Retention & Member Life Cycle

A video lesson within the Membership Fix online course.

Tools: Camtasia, Canva

Time in development: 3-4 hrs

Background: For this project, I created a series of visually expressive slides to support an video lesson for a module within an online course for business owners. The audio and color palette were preset, so my task was to create the most effective visual support for the message of this lesson.

As I was not the only member of the development team for this project, I needed to balance my perspective on effective visual support with my colleagues’ perspectives. My objective was to create a presentation that both supported the audio and message of the author and upheld the design standards established for the entire course, so this lesson would be seamlessly integrated.

Solutions: Using a style guide, I found a balance between my vision for an expressive, visual support for the content of the audio and the importance of unity between my project and that of my colleagues’. I found including both photographs and graphic illustrations highlighted the key points of the business concept the course provider intends her participants learn and apply to their own business.

Results: The final product I created is a seamless addition to the entire course, as it upholds the style guide, and it provides effective visual support for the complex business concept being explained in the lesson.
